Beer

Philadelphia has become one of the top cities for beer, particularly craft beer, in the country.  We’ve got both top notch bars with fantastic beer taps and great local craft beers.  Yards and Philadelphia Brewing Company are located within city limits, and Dogfish Head, Troegs, Victory and Flying Fish are not too far away.  There are also microbrews such as Dock Street, Nodding Head and Triumph.

Just as important, Philadelphia draws a lot of great beers from around the nation.  For instance, take Russian River Brewing Company, which brews some of the top rated beers such as Pliny the Younger, Pliny the Elder and Supplication.  It’s based in California and distributes beer to exactly one place east of Colorado: Philadelphia.  Its yearly limited release of Pliny the Younger draws massive crowds to bars, and the Philadelphia region is fortunate enough to have multiple bars receive shipments of it.

But don’t just take my work for it.  Read this masterful piece on Philadelphia as a Craft Beer destination:

The City of Brotherly Suds
Philadelphia has become a destination for beer aficionados
